About the East Boston Artists Group

We are a community of artists located in historic East Boston, a growing and vibrant arts destination.

Founded in 2000, the East Boston Artists Group (EBAG) supports and connects local artists and showcases their work in such events as Open Studios, Holiday Open Houses, and other exhibits within and outside of the neighborhood.

As a pioneering neighborhood arts organization, EBAG is proud to support local artists and to be part of East Boston’s burgeoning arts scene. Our members represent a diverse array of backgrounds and artistic disciplines.

Upcoming event:

The East Boston Artists Group, in celebration of Boston Design Week, will host a number of events and activities in various locations in the neighborhood. We’ll be partnering with other cultural institutions (Atlantic Works Gallery, Boston East Gallery, HarborArts, and Veronica Robles Cultural Center) to showcase Art & Culture in East Boston.

A collaborative space for art and ideas. With a growing number of artists displaced by Boston’s soaring rents, East Boston is a richly diverse community which is quickly becoming a vibrant artist enclave. The Atlantic Works Gallery, composed of 29 members of the thriving East Boston Artist Group (EBAG), is a manifestation of this trend.

We help make the world a better place. The foundation was formed in 1998 to administer a generous $9.6 million commitment from the Massachusetts Port Authority as part of community mitigation and to offset the impacts associated with Massport's $4.4 Billion Logan Airport Modernization Program.

Transforming the landscape and inspiring lasting change in Boston. HarborArts creates and presents public art as a platform for dialogue. Through the installation of monumental installations and creative activations, we are cultivating community at the intersection of public art and activism.

Located in the East Boston Shipyard and Marina, the ICA Watershed is a seasonal exhibition space located in a formerly condemned copper pipe factory that is transformed every summer with a new exhibition.

As a Latin American cultural center, we seek to both hold space for Latinos to engage in cultural activities and share space with people from other cultural groups who wish to learn about our cultures. All are welcome to participate in our programs and celebrate with us at our festive events. We create job opportunities for the youth in the traditional arts, culture fields, and we support aspiring and professional artists, and arts entrepreneurs in the city. We offer unique networking opportunities around arts and culture. Through the power of arts, culture, and multimedia we build social capital and inspire community action for social change.

ZUMIX empowers young people to build successful futures for themselves, transforming lives and community through music, technology, and creative employment.
