Pat McSweeney

My art practice, which began about 16 years ago, has introduced me to a rich world of fibers. Starting as a felt-maker, I’ve explored a wide range of techniques and materials, including shibori and botanical printing, joomchi, momegami and gel printing. My pieces, both wearables and wall art, often combine several methods of surface design. The common ingredient is my love of the organic nature of the papers and textiles I work with. The materials have a life of their own over which the artist has only limited control, often leading to unexpected and delightful results.
