Sara Rahe

My art’s process is based on repetition and pattern. Geometric and swirling interwoven shapes are inspired by viscera, fashion and craft itself. My pieces are unapologetically feminine, colorful and intensive.  I find comfort in the hypnotic repetition of my process and the beauty and history of the materials I chose.  With a needle and thread, I am essentially mending my wounds with art; healing through tactile expression.

I hold a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and a Masters of Fine Art in Visual Art from Mason Gross School of Art in Rutgers The State University of New Jersey.
