William “Bill” Leong

William (Bill) Leong is an “Age of Sail” award-winning model shipwright who creates historically accurate models of modified ship kits. Bill painstakingly researches every model he builds, working with museum and gallery experts to ensure that every detail is correct. He spent 4 years at the US Naval Academy Ship Model Society in Annapolis under the tutelage of master modelers. He is a member of the USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild and the Nautical Research Guild (NRG).
His dedication to the craft of ship modeling is evident in the precision and authenticity of each ship or boat. Bill's models are not only valued for their craftsmanship but also for their faithful representation of maritime history, making them sought-after centerpieces in exhibitions and private collections.
The Sultana won the People’s Choice award at the Northeast Joint Clubs on 3/25. It has been entered into the (NRG) Nationals, along with Swift (see gallery); awards will be announced on 11/8/25.
