EBAG at Art in the Park

Art in the Park Comes to the East Boston Greenway This September

East Boston, MA — On Saturday, September 6, 2025, the Friends of the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway in partnership with the Trustees One Waterfront and the East Boston Artists Group (EBAG), present Art in the Park — a free, outdoor art show happening from 12:00 to 4:00 PM along the Greenway between the Blue Caboose and the Gove Street entrance.

This vibrant, family-friendly event will feature over 30 local artists displaying and selling their work across a variety of media, including painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and more. Attendees are invited to explore the Greenway as a public art gallery—connecting with art, nature, and community along the way.

At the heart of this year’s event is The Thinking Path — a special exhibition curated by Anna Yeroshenko. Inspired by the idea that walking stimulates creativity, the exhibition takes its name from the daily walking route of Charles Darwin, who used his time outdoors to generate ideas and reflect. In East Boston, the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway plays a similar role for many—a place where movement sparks imagination, and where creativity and resilience take root.

“This event is all about making art accessible,” says Kristen Freitas, Interim President of EBAG. “Art in the Park gives artists of all ages and experience levels the chance to share their work with the community in a joyful, informal way—right in one of East Boston’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.”

In addition to artist booths and The Thinking Path exhibition, visitors can look forward to live performances, collaborative art-making stations, and a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the day.
