About the Artists

  • Jean M Bernstein – A Midwest native now living in East Boston, Jean’s photography explores objects and ideas that feel both intriguing and familiar, sparking connection and community. A new member of Atlantic Works Gallery, she sees her work as a way to foster a shared sense of place.

  • Adèle Patnaude – Inspired by the peaceful landscapes of Amherst, New Hampshire, Adèle’s oil paintings capture the serenity and beauty of nature with a balance of realism and imagination. She blends a career in finance with her deep love of art, encouraging others to find moments of creativity and calm.

  • Kristen Freitas – A multidisciplinary artist and community advocate, Kristen creates immersive installations, socially engaged text-based work, and vibrant paint pouring pieces. A graduate of the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University, she is a member of Turtle Studios, Atlantic Works Gallery, and President of EBAG.

  • June Krinsky-Rudder – Working across abstraction and photography, June’s art draws from water, nature, and universal structures found in both micro and macro worlds. Her process blends bright colors, asymmetry, and material exploration, with each piece evolving organically.

Beyond the Gallery: Local Artists Transform The Eddy into a Pop-Up Waterfront Exhibit, The Water’s Edge

East Boston, MA — The East Boston Artists Group (EBAG) presents The Water’s Edge, a collaborative exhibition featuring four local artists whose work is inspired by the natural beauty, color, and energy of the waterfront. The show will run from September 15 to October 20, 2025 in a unique pop-up gallery space at The Eddy (10 New Street, East Boston), with an opening reception on Friday, September 19 from 6–8 PM.

Showcasing the talents of Jean M Bernstein, Adèle Patnaude, Kristen Freitas, and June Krinsky-Rudder, The Water’s Edge features photography, paintings and mixed media, offering a range of perspectives that capture the beauty, abstraction, and emotion of the waterfront.

Together, the works reflect the artists’ diverse interpretations of water’s movement, light, and shifting moods.

Located along East Boston’s harborfront, The Eddy offers residents and visitors the chance to encounter art outside of a gallery setting — creating new opportunities for connection and conversation.

“We wanted to show that art doesn’t have to be confined to a gallery to have impact,” says Kristen Freitas, EBAG President and exhibiting artist. “By placing work in a public-facing residential space along the waterfront, we’re meeting people where they are and making art part of everyday life.”

Visitors can view the exhibition Monday through Friday, 11 AM–4 PM, or by appointment. The Eddy also offers property tours for prospective tenants by appointment; more information is available at eddyliving.com.

As an official stop on East Boston Open Studios map, The Eddy will offer special extended hours for October 11 and 12 and host artists on-site to display their work.
